Facial GUa Sha
 Teacher Training FAQ'S

Depending on the time allocated and your expertise it can take between 12-20h. You can do the training in your own time, there’s no time restrictions. You can do it for a few days, take a few weeks off etc. Whatever works for you. It's very flexible. No rush at all. Take all the time you need.

1. How long does this course take to complete?

2. Do you offer any discounts on Teacher Training Courses?

We do not offer promotions on our training as our course is considered affordable amongst similar trainings. Our goal for the teacher training is to make it as accessible as possible for people (both financially and time wise) whilst still fully equipping you to confidently and safely teach Gua Sha.

3. Will there be video material supporting the course manual?

Yes. Each technique is explained both in writing and in a supporting video. The links to each video are in the manual.

4. Do I get to keep the course materials?

Yes, you have lifetime access to the course. Training materials are in a digital format for distance learning.

5. What will I learn?

The course covers Gua Sha techniques, skin and face anatomy, Qi flow and meridians, how to do consultations, health and safety, contraindications, and how to build a business. It qualifies you to teach Gua Sha classes to groups and individuals (in person and online) and guide them how to use this crystal face tool on their own faces.

6. How many Gua Gha techniques are being taught in the course?

More than 50 moves for eyes, lips, cheeks, neck and decolletage.

7. How is the practical exam structured?

After you have completed your study you will email your written assignment to your trainer. She will then mark this and reach out to book your 30 minute video call. In this call you will do a 10 minute practical exam (a mini Gua Sha class) and have the remaining time to ask questions and chat to your trainer.

8. Will I get a certification at the end?

Yes, upon course completion you will get the Certificate of Achievement to become a Facial Gua Sha Teacher which is accredited by International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine.

10. Do I need any Gua Sha tools before I start?

Yes. The Gua Sha techniques are designed to be used together with the Hayo’u gua sha tools. You’ll need 2 x Beauty Restorer and 2 x Precision. We recommend Jade to start with. Students are sent a discount code to purchase these from Hayo'u upon ordering the course.

11. Do I need any particular qualifications or experience to begin the Gua Sha Teacher Training?

The course is open to everyone, there is no need to have any previous experience.
This course will allow you to teach Gua Sha to others but you will need to be insured before teaching others, so please check with your insurance company if they cover it or we can help identify one insurance provider that will if you don't already have insurance.

12. How is this course different from previous training offered by Hayo’u and Katie Blake?

This is an international qualification which enables you to teach Gua Sha to groups and individuals around the world and become a fully qualified Facial Gua Sha Teacher.
It gives a more in-depth and structured approach to learning, teaching and self-practicing gua sha. It is also accredited by the IPHM.

9. Does the course entail further professional development?

This course provides a further reading list and we are currently working on developing a CPD- a continued professional development program in which you will have access monthly to more knowledge and assistance per subscription. This will also enable you to become an Advanced Facial Gua Sha Teacher.

13. Can I qualify as both a Face Yoga Teacher and a Facial Gua Sha Teacher?

Yes! Facial Gua Sha and Face Yoga work together really well. Whether you want to add to your current skill set or you want to start a brand new career or business by training in Facial Gua Sha and Face Yoga you will have a wide range of amazing techniques and knowledge to share with your clients. 14. HOW MUCH WORK WILL I GET WHEN I COMPLETE THE COURSE?

This is really up to you and how much you would like to do after the course. My first advice is to take some time to use my ‘magic wand’ technique. This involves taking some time and writing down what your perfect Gua Sha week/month/year would look like. For example your ideal may be to have 4 one to one clients a day or it may be to do 1 group workshop per month. You may want to work full time, part time, from home or travel the world. You may love working with groups or you may prefer one to one. There’s no right or wrong answer. The beauty about being a Gua Sha teacher is that you can design a life/business/career/job that suits your lifestyle, goals, personality and dreams. The course gives you all the skills you need to be a great Gua Sha teacher and if you decide to take the monthly Continued Professional Development training you will learn even more skills. But it’s also important to remember that your success is down to you. We give you the skills but you design your business the way you like. We have some amazing success stories of teachers who took the course (often with no prior Gua Sha or business experience) and have gone on to have full time diaries of clients, teach around the world, write books, appear on TV, build massive social media followings and have huge financial success. But once again, we gave them the skills and inspiration and they built the success through their own hard work. Gua Sha can be the most amazing business or even part time job and remember what you put in to it is what you get out of it!
