Danielle Collins and Katie Brindle
The Facial Gua Sha Teacher Training Course was developed jointly by Katie Brindle, founder of Hayo'u, Katie Blake and myself, and is accredited by International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).
Your training is done exclusively online via a dedicated manual with video content and you can study in your own home, in your own time and at your own pace. We ask you to study for a minimum of 12 hours (but many choose to do 20 + depending on experience level) prior to completing your written assignment (which you email to your trainer) and your practical assignment (which is done via video call with your trainer).
Your trainer will be highly experienced Gua Sha Instructor Katie Blake.
The course comprises of 16 lessons in which you will learn all about facial Gua Sha and how to successfully use this on yourself and how to teach others to use it on their face. Please note this does not qualify you to touch others faces with a Gua Sha, you are showing them how to touch their own faces with the tool.

"The Facial Gua Sha Teacher training was excellent. The manual you receive is extensive and contains clear explanations, photos and embedded videos to support learning. In addition to this, Katie’s online Zoom sessions were invaluable - I have learnt (and will, no doubt, continue to learn) so much from her and feel privileged to have her as my teacher. Probably the most important thing I have learnt relates to the crystals themselves and their healing properties. I have learnt to observe how heat is drawn out of the skin and now know which crystal is best to use and when and how to use it.
Personally, my favourite part of the training was that I loved developing my understanding of Yang Sheng, the self-care part of Chinese medicine. It works on so many levels and is the perfect antidote to modern stressful lifestyles."
“Earlier in the year, I considered following a route that so many women my age (more than you might think!) pursue, opting for medical-grade skincare and a little 💉 to help keep everything buoyant.
I went so far as to step into the office, just to feel it out…and every part of my being tightened and clenched in fear. I felt very strongly that fear underscored all of my chosen aesthetician/injector's work, as understated as it was. I liked her, but I wasn’t going to let her go near my face.
So I took the money I was going to spend on changing my face chemically, and put it towards my Face Yoga teacher training and Gua Sha teacher training.
I can honestly say that my skin looks better than it has in years, and I enjoy meeting my face each morning with clean fingers and a calm mind."
I love(d) The Facial Gua Sha Teacher Training course! It’s beautifully created and I have thoroughly enjoyed studying. The great thing is that the training is also accessible and understandable if you do not have a professional background (like me). And what’s great of course is that Katie Blake is your Super Trainer. Not only is she available at all times to answer any questions you may have, she also hosts biweekly zoom drop-ins to delve deeper into specific topics and answer questions. I am convinced there is no better trainer in the world. Katie is just amazing and has SO much knowledge. On top of that, she is one of the nicest people I know. I aspire to be as great a teacher as she is (one day). Actually everything about the course was my favourite, but what I loved the most was the background information about the skin, the microcirculation, the lymphatic system and above all lesson 5 ‘The role of the organs, Qi flow and meridians’. Because it is precisely this information that contributes to awareness about the profound benefits of Gua Sha and what you can achieve with self-care (preventive health).
My favourite thing about The Facial Gua Sha Teacher Training was having the freedom to learn and practice in my own time. I have already recommended it to a fellow Skincare and Facial Reflexologist therapist, saying that it is amazing, beautiful and relaxing and that it would integrate beautifully in her existing work. I told her that the provided training is very professional 10/10.
My favourite part of the Facial Gua Sha Teacher Training was learning that Gua Sha is such a powerful tool! I liked that the training could be followed at my own pace but I was so eager to complete this course and bring the skills to practice. The training manual has great information that will enable you to feel confident in delivering great advice to your clients. You are supported throughout by your trainer Katie, she is wonderfully kind and approachable......you will always feel like the door is open for questions and advice.
