Right off the bat, the answer is yes!
But you need a little more than that, right?
Face yoga is a natural way to look and feel the best version of you. You may also call it a non-surgical face lift.
Developed by World leading Face Yoga expert Danielle Collins(me!), this art is taught to millions worldwide in my 16-year experience.
When I created this method, I wanted everybody to have complete control over their faces, bodies, and wellbeing. Those who do these techniques with me or one of my certified teachers have a toolbox of techniques they can apply every single day. The results vary from person to person but in my clinical experience and in a BBC study with doctors and dermatologists who tested my method, the skin can look one year younger in one month with 30 minutes per day practice.
The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method has 960 teachers all over the world, and counting. It has proudly been featured in Vogue, The Daily Mail, Harper’s Bazaar, and The Telegraph.
Now, enough about me. Let’s see what face yoga is all about, and how you can benefit from it.
A Holistic Approach to Youthful, Healthy Skin
The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method combines historically proven Eastern medicine with the most advanced studies of face composition, plus tried-and-true wellbeing strategies that heal from the inside out.
It’s a routine anyone can implement. Whether you have 50 minutes or only two minutes a day, daily face yoga practice will give you glowing skin at any age.
For a longer lasting outcome, daily practice is key to show amazing benefits inside and out. Click here to see before and after pictures of our loving face yoga community and their visible results.
Here’s The Proof You Need: Face Yoga DOES make you look younger!
You’re more than right to look for proof that my method really works and here is two of my favourite studies on Face Yoga:
Dermatologists at Northwestern University have studied the method through-and-through. What they found? Face yoga is proven to make you look 3 years younger in as little as 20 weeks.
And it doesn’t end there.
I appeared on a show called The Twinstitute, on BBC Two, in which doctors revealed that Face Yoga can, in fact, make you look one year younger in one month.
For better results, you’ll need to practice Face Yoga with a clean face and clean hands. I recommend using a plant based moisturising serum like Fusion by Danielle Collins before you start.
The 5 Aspects of the Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method
1. Face exercise
This first step works all three layers of your skin together. These are the epidermis (the top layer), the dermis (the middle, thicker layer), and the hypodermins or subcutaneous, which is the bottom layer.
Overall, your face, head and neck has 57 muscles that need exercise, just like your legs, arms, and core. Have you ever thought about that?
Exercising your face daily will result in much firmer and smoother skin.
“Will it give me wrinkles?”
This is a common question I get, and the answer is no. Not if you follow the right techniques from a qualified professional. The face exercise we do is controlled from start to finish, and we’re always checking that the skin remains smooth, no wrinkles are created throughout!
It’s quite the opposite–face yoga is proven to reduce wrinkles rather than cause them.
2. Face massage
Face massaging is key for glowing skin.
That’s because it boosts circulation, improves lymphatic drainage, and removes tension. It turns all of the attention to your face for a relaxing and powerful experience.
3. Face relaxation
This part is so important. We’re used to frowning and tensing up our face muscles so often, we don’t even notice anymore. This may cause expression lines on the forehead, under the eyes, and other areas.
Face relaxation works by reverting that. Not only does it prevent stress-related wrinkles, but it relaxes your face muscles for comfort and wellbeing.
Acupressure is a traditional Chinese, Indian and Japenese healing method, which has been trusted for thousands of years.
It promotes relaxation and tension relief. This, in turn, helps your body release endorphins, the “feel good” chemical. You’ll feel better, and your skin will look healthy by taking care of your body from the inside out.
You can’t expect your skin to be vibrant and healthy when the rest of your body is out of balance.
That’s why the Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method encourages balanced nutrition, good quality sleep, mindfulness, skincare, self-care, breathing techniques, and positive affirmations. This will take care of your body and soul, and of course, it’ll show on your skin.
Who Can Do Face Yoga?
Anyone can do Face Yoga. Men and women who want to feel rejuvenated and enjoy glowing skin are more than welcome to be part of our global community or Face Yoga family as I like to call it.
If you have skin problems and health issues, make sure to talk to your doctor before starting. Just for the heads up!
In case you have had surgeries like lip fillers, botox or plastic surgery, you can still enjoy the benefits of Face Yoga. But it’s important to chat with your surgeon or practitioner first.
