You touch a lot of stuff throughout the day and you might be surprised how much bacteria you regularly carry around on your hands. The last thing you want to do is be rubbing that bacteria into your face. This is particularly a problem if you already suffer from acne or other skin conditions.
2. TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP
In the same vein, wearing makeup during your facial yoga session isn’t a good idea. Make sure you start with clean hands and a clean face for best results.

3. WEEKLY PHOTOS
Take a front and side picture once a week to track your progress. It’s important to remember that face yoga is about positivity. You didn’t look bad before, but tracking your progress allows you to see the difference and is a great motivating factor.
4. TAKE OUT CONTACT LENSES
Some of the eye techniques used in face yoga may be uncomfortable if you’re wearing contact lenses. Take them out before you begin to avoid this discomfort.
5. USE A MIRROR
Stress-related expressions are what cause many of those undesirable lines and wrinkles in our faces. Keep an eye on your face throughout the day by glancing in the mirror from time to time. What expression are you making? Smooth it out and take a few deep breaths to release some tension.
Speaking of tension, ever noticed how your muscles feel a bit tense after a good workout? The same thing happens after a good round of facial exercises as well. After all, you’re working on a natural facelift!
However, don’t allow your face to hold that tension. Let it go and relax as you finish your session.
6. MAINTAIN GOOD POSTURE
Keep a long spine and keep your chin up during your session. Imagine a string pulling you up at all times. Check in throughout the day as well, this will help avoid those sagging skin lines around the neck.
7. HAVE FUN!
Face yoga and the benefits you can receive are serious business, but you are making some funny faces during your workout. Go ahead and laugh at yourself. Laughing releases tension, which is a big part of what we’re doing here.

Drink plenty of water, cut down on sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Sleep 8 hours a night and keep your stress levels down. All of these things will have a massive impact on the results you get from face yoga.
10. GET TO KNOW YOUR FACE
Where do you typically hold tension? What detrimental expressions do you frequently use? Notice how your skin breaks out when you eat certain foods. Get to know your face so you are the expert on what your face needs to look amazing!
